Maurice Jakesch joined Cornell University in 2017 as a PhD student in Information Science. He works in the Social Technologies Lab and is lucky to be advised by Mor Naaman. He’s a fellow at the Cornell Tech Digital Life Initiative and the German National Academic Foundation. He organized the Information Credibility workshop at ICWSM’21 and is as an Associate Chair (AC) for the CHI 2021 Understanding People committee.

He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich (2013), an MS in Information Technology from the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (2014), and an MA in Philosophy of Science and Technology from TU Munich (2015). He also got a Technology Management degree from the CDTM, Germany’s coolest innovation institute.

Maurice interned with Microsoft Research, Facebook Core Data Science, GE’s Digital Foundries, and BMW Connected Mobility. He volunteers for the MIT D-Lab Innovation Network.
